Hot Rolling Mill Rolls
Semi-steel roll is a roll material with performance between forged steel rolls and cast iron rolls. Its carbon content is usually in the range of 1.3-2.3%, containing alloying elements such as nickel, chromium, and molybdenum. Its basic structure contains a certain amount of carbides, with the mass fraction of free carbides generally about 6%~10%, and it is manufactured through special heat treatment processes.

Material Characteristics
Its microstructure is tempered sorbite, with fine granular and rod-like carbides distributed on the matrix, and the hardness range is HS35-60. The carbide content and morphological distribution in the working layer change very little along the radius direction of the roll body. Its outstanding performance characteristics are that the hardness in the service layer of the roll decreases very little, while it has good wear resistance, bite performance, toughness and excellent accident resistance.
Application Scope
Suitable for roughing and intermediate stands of section steel and bar mills; roughing mills for seamless steel pipes; edge rolls of universal section steel mills; roughing rolls, backup rolls and vertical rolls of hot strip mills.
