High Chromium Iron Centrifugal Work Roll

The high chromium iron centrifugal work roll is a high-alloy composite cast iron roll produced by centrifugal composite casting process. The outer layer of the roll body is made of high-chromium white wear-resistant cast iron with a carbon content of 2.3-3.0% and a chromium content of 15-22%, while the core and neck of the roll are made of high-strength ductile cast iron.

Material Characteristics

The matrix structure consists of tempered martensite + eutectic carbides + <5% retained austenite. Due to the action of a large amount of chromium alloy elements, the carbides in the outer layer structure are M₇C₃-type carbides with high microhardness, excellent wear resistance and chrysanthemum-shaped distribution, with a microhardness value as high as 1500-1700 HV. After differential heat treatment, the roll has good comprehensive high-temperature performance. During the use of the roll, a dense and hard oxide film can be formed on the roll surface, providing excellent wear resistance.

Application Scope

Suitable for work rolls in the front section of finishing mills of hot continuous rolling mills, work rolls of medium and heavy plate mills, and work rolls of levelers.
